We match singers and instrumentalists according to age, instrument, experience, availability and musical direction. Once the right people are together, we help the group rehearse with purpose, develop a set and work towards recording and live performance.

How Band Factory matching works
- Apply. Complete the short application with your instrument or voice, experience and availability.
- Talk with us. We discuss your influences, goals, commitment and the kind of band environment that will suit you.
- Find the right fit. We look at current line-ups and other applicants before recommending a match or audition.
- Build the band. Suitable groups move into structured rehearsals, song development and performance preparation.
Who can apply?
Band Factory welcomes enquiries from vocalists, guitarists, bassists, drummers, keyboard players and other musicians across Tauranga and the wider Bay of Plenty. Applicants under 18 need a parent or guardian involved. A match is based on more than technical ability: reliability, availability, musical direction and shared goals all matter.
A practical pathway, not just a noticeboard
Finding names online is easy. Building a dependable band is harder. Band Factory is a managed matching and development process, so we can look beyond an instrument vacancy and consider whether people are likely to work well together.
Membership is $50 NZD per week and begins only after a suitable band match has been confirmed. Applying starts a conversation and does not commit you to payment.
Already have a band?
